Middle Park Road street association, in Weoley, Birmingham, has for the second year running held a carol service at the Brain Injury Unit, which adjoins their street.  Residents of the street crowded into the common room of the Unit, along with those who live there and their carers, singing well-known carols and some other Christmas standards.  There were smiles all round.  Service manage, Paul, said it was such a great thing that the street was able to do so much for them, including coming and improving their garden twice in the summer.  His colleague Julie said that similar units had struggled to get any involvement from the local community and that this was “brilliant” and made a real difference to many.
