Emerging as a key initiative to ‘lock-in’ the surge in community spirit seen during the pandemic, Street Association are at the heart of the As One partnership vision. Local authorities, groups of churches and other faiths, plus community organisations, businesses and others, are getting together in various parts of the UK to mount a campaign called ‘As One’, with the message to ‘fill your street with friendliness’. This will be shared through hundreds of two-metre banners (as pictured) in each area, plus social networking – leading to neighbourhood events to share how a Street Association could be what streets need to make sure the community spirit engendered during the pandemic doesn’t just evaporate when it’s over, but has legs to endure and grow.
